Bixafen

Bixafen is a cereal fungicide used in the control of stem and leaf diseases. It has a low aqueous solubility and is not volatile.  (e.g., rusts and glume blotch of wheat, gray leaf spot and rust of corn). It is also expected to be a valuable tool in controlling early blight disease on potato that has developed resistance to existing alternatives (e.g., azoxystrobin and boscalid).

Bixafen is a fungicide belonging to the pyrazole-carboxamide chemical class, developed to control a broad spectrum of fungal diseases in various cereal crops. Its primary mode of action is the inhibition of succinate dehydrogenase (SDH), a critical enzyme in the mitochondrial respiratory chain of fungi. As an SDHI (Succinate Dehydrogenase Inhibitor), bixafen disrupts the fungal pathogen's energy supply, thereby preventing its growth and proliferation.
